It used to be avoidable. You would only have to look at it if you wanted to. Today it is almost impossible to not hear about what is going on in the news. It used to be just Newspapers and radio broadcasts, then it was the Nightly/Morning news television stations. Now there is 24/7 coverage on the TV and constant updates on every form of social media.
